Those of us who live the gluten-free life have chosen a more healthful, mindful way of living – we’re here to inspire you to live fully. So, whether it’s a recipe, a tip, or a new way to look at the world around you, we hope to help you be at your very best.
This white house Easter party is everything that embodies a Spring gathering! From light decor to scrumptious food and desserts, we made sure it was all present. The edible nests with carrot cake eggs were a whimsical themed dessert to complete the meal. They are made with Glutino flour which makes it so nobody would ever know they are gluten-free. The best part about all of this was that it is something that you can recreate for yourself.
I always feel drawn to white get togethers. They are just so effervescent and light. I love all things cheery! They make me feel like I can breath better and let my wild wings fly free. I knew that this year I wanted to create a very airy Easter celebration. Of course, if you are doing a white gathering, there still needs to be some pops of color.
When I found these lettuce leaf bowls and that big beautiful brown bunny at HomeGoods, I knew exactly what my pops of color would be. Each bowl was mere dollars while the bunny was under $30. I recommend only buying party supplies that you plan on using again as holiday or everyday decor in your own home. It just doesn’t make sense to spend the money otherwise. The bunny will look great on my gold bar cart every Easter from here on out.
Fresh florals are another must at all gatherings. They bring life to an event and offer a beautiful scent as well. Always choose blooms that are in season so it pairs well with your celebration.
For our meal we served up a delicious baked ham, red garlic roasted potatoes, vegetable soup, and a delicious chicken cordon bleu pot pie with carrot rosettes. This meal is all gluten-free and incredibly easy to prepare. The last thing you should be doing during a family gathering is slaving away in the kitchen while everyone else visits.
The development of our chicken cordon bleu pot pie came from a recipe I remember my mom making when I was a young girl. She made this chicken cordon bleu in a 9×13 inch pan that was absolutely divine. Since I love traditional pot pie, I knew I needed to combine elements of both into one tasty dish. Since our friends at Glutino have one flaky, delicious pie crust, I decided to use it for the ease and taste. Get that recipe HERE. For extra gorgeous white house Easter party photos, invite guests to where white to dinner. Obviously it isn’t a must but it sure makes for beautiful photos of friends and family.
For texture, drape a big comfy white marbled blanket over one of the end chairs. A white fur rug also provides texture and gives that “white rabbit” feel to your Easter celebration. If you can find an egg or Easter banner, you can drape it along a table or simply place it on the backs of two chairs. Then just move it when dinner is served. Bunny prints and egg wreaths are more decor that bring together the party.
If you’d like to do something extra special for the kids in attendance, I recommend hitting up the Target dollar spot to find Easter bags and goodies. I found these canvas bunny bags and cloth carrots that seemed just too perfect. Little lady loved her new “purse” too! Furry, floppy bunny ears also make for a nice photo op. You could also make our Easter bunny baking baskets for parents.
