Ingredients

  • 9 slices Glutino Multigrain Bread, toasted
  • 2 cups chopped ham
  • 2 cups grated Gruyere cheese
  • 2 cups frozen peas, thawed
  • ½ cup frozen chopped onions and garlic, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ teaspoons salt
  • ¾ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup grated fontina cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Spray a 4-quart slow cooker on the inside with vegetable oil cooking spray.
  2. Lay 2 slices of bread in the bottom of the cooker. Cut another slice of bread into pieces and fit them in around the first two slices. You are creating a bread layer. On top of that, sprinkle half the ham, half the Gruyere, half the peas, onions and garlic. Cover with a second layer of bread and then sprinkle with the remaining Gruyere, peas, onion and garlic.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together the mustard and 1 eggs. Beat in the other 5 eggs, the milk, salt and pepper. Pour the mixture over the casserole evenly. Press the bread down into the eggs and milk.
  4. Cover the top of the casserole with fontina and Parmesan cheeses.
  5. Set to low and cook for 6-8 hours. Or set to high and cook for 3 hours. Serve hot!
